Mens Slouch Boots
Classic style combined with unequaled durability!
Men’s slouch boots have retained much of their original looks for well over one hundred years. Unlike women’s slouch boots, men’s slouch boots come almost exclusively with a boot heel. Their appearance is almost identical to that of a standard cowboy boot.
The uppers are rarely decorated and of course have a loose appearance to create the slouchy look. The degree and quantity of extra leather or suede is generally one third of that used in women’s slouch boots. Most of today’s top styles come pre-distressed with little decoration beyond moderately ornate toe guards.
Built ruggedly, men’s slouch boots are often constructed to endure strenuous outdoor use. Soles are either hardened leather or a non slip synthetic. Uppers are constructed of thick to medium weight leather or suede. The shaft of the boot is also constructed of heavier materials. They often have pull tabs which are a necessity for cowboy boots.
If you’re looking for a casual yet handsome looking boot, the men’s slouch boot is worth a look. Unlike ornate cowboy boots made from materials more for the sake of appearance than function, the men’s slouch boot is all business. That’s not to say you can’t find highly ornate slouch boots for men, but they are the exception and not the rule.
The typical cost of a well made men’s slouch boot ranges from $100 to $200 American. Two brands we personally recommend are Durango and Dingo. Durango has been making quality men’s footwear for decades. They produce a full range of boots from work to dress boots. Dingo shares a similar track record of producing fine quality boots worldwide.
