Womens Slouch Boots
Classic style combined with unequaled durability!
Women’s slouch boots come in a wide variety of styles and looks for nearly any occasion. Variations of the slouch boot can be in the material, color, shaft size, and heel type. Recently, slouch boots or derivations of them are worn more casually than in the past.
Highly popular suede slouch boots have found their way into mainstream fashion and the result has been a resurgence of the slouch boot in every major department store and shoe retailers worldwide.
What separates the slouch boot from nearly every other style of boot are the seemingly endless variations in styles. Slouch boots can be found in western, casual, formal and urban designs. Not many styles of boots can be worn on a Harley as well as a formal event. Granted the appearance of these varying styles are significant, the basic design of the boot remains the same.
Starting from the bottom, it’s important to note that slouch boot heels can come in any variety. Casual wear slouch boots typically have a flat sole. Western cut boots can have either a straight cut boot heel, but a tapered cut heel is more common in women’s slouch boots. The stacked heel is a variation of the wedge heel and provides heel elevation without reducing a great deal of sole surface area. Finally, women’s slouch boots can have a standard heel all the way up to a stiletto style heel.
The uppers and shaft of slouch boots also offer a wide variety of choices. The material type does dictate to some extent the style of a slouch boot. Highly ornate or dress boots are almost always made of leather while suede is typically used for more casual styles. As with every rule there are exceptions and ankle cut, suede slouch boots available in a variety of bright colors, are the current rage. Highly ornate slouch boots with buckles or anklets are also extremely popular.
The suede slouch boot is generally for casual wear. Designs are typically utilitarian, but more ornate styles can be found. Sherpa or wool lined suede slouch boots can’t be beat for keeping your feet warm this winter. Suede can be dyed a variety of colors much like leather so don’t feel like you’re limited to shades of brown.
It is important to note that suede boots are very susceptible to dirt and grime and even more so when wet. Always treat your suede with a treatment application from your shoe retailer. Finer footwear stores will gladly do this for even long after the sale. If you prefer to do it yourself, Scotchguard type products can be found at any big box store. Always read and follow the instructions as these products contain flammable chemicals. Clean your suede before using a sealer to extend the life and appearance of your suede slouch boots.
